Warhammer Survivors Evolutions

Weapon fusion combinations, passive requirement pairings, and boss chest evolution mechanics across 40k and Age of Sigmar.

Evolutions Overview & Core Systems

Weapon evolutions are the primary damage engine in Warhammer Survivors. As waves intensify toward the 25-minute mark, un-evolved weapons cannot keep pace with horde health scaling. Reaching evolved form transforms directional fire into screen-wide devastation.

The evolution rules follow a strict three-part checklist: level the base weapon to maximum rank, hold the paired passive relic in your passive inventory, and collect a golden chest from an Extremis or wave boss. Understanding which passives double as offensive powerhouses ensures your build stays lethal.

Max Rank First

A weapon cannot evolve until every base upgrade node is purchased. Focus experience gems into one weapon before spreading levels.

Pairing Requirements

Every weapon requires a specific passive synergy relic, such as Dice Cube for the Boltgun or Tape Measure for the Chainsword.

Boss Chests Trigger Evolutions

Standard wooden chests provide gold and standard upgrades. Golden chests dropped by named bosses trigger the weapon transformation.

Evolutions FAQ

Can I evolve multiple weapons in one run?

Yes. You can evolve as many weapons as your inventory slots and boss chest drops allow, provided you hold the matching passive relics.

Do passive relics need to be max level to trigger an evolution?

No. The passive item only needs to be present at level 1 in your inventory, though upgrading it enhances its secondary stat bonuses.

What happens to the base weapon upon evolution?

The base weapon is replaced by its evolved form, inheriting higher projectile count, increased damage multipliers, and unique proc effects.
